Cancellation and Refunds

Tiger Holidays ยท Help & Support

We understand that travel plans can change. This page explains how cancellations and refunds work for holidays booked through Tiger Holidays.

Cancellation Terms Vary by Holiday

There is no single cancellation charge that applies to every Tiger Holidays booking.

Our holidays are created using live and dynamically priced travel services. A package may include flights, accommodation, transfers and other services supplied under different commercial and cancellation conditions.

For this reason, the cancellation conditions applicable to your holiday may vary depending on factors such as:

the airline and fare selected;

the hotel and room rate selected;

your travel dates;

the time remaining before departure;

transfers or other services included in the package; and

the individual supplier conditions attached to those services.

Always check the conditions shown with your holiday before booking.

The cancellation conditions applying to your selected package will be displayed during the booking journey before you make payment and become bound by the booking.

These product-specific conditions form part of your booking.

Where Can I Find My Cancellation Conditions?

The applicable cancellation conditions are shown with the holiday or rate you select during the booking process.

Before completing your booking, please check carefully whether any part of your holiday is:

cancellable without charge until a specified date;

subject to a cancellation charge;

partially refundable; or

subject to a supplier commitment that may significantly affect the amount refundable if you cancel.

The relevant conditions will also be included in, or referenced by, your booking confirmation.

If there is any difference between general information on this page and the specific conditions shown for your booking, the booking-specific conditions, together with your Booking Terms and applicable statutory rights, will apply.

Can I Cancel My Holiday?

Yes.

You may cancel your package at any time before the start of your holiday.

Depending on the conditions applicable to your booking, you may be required to pay an appropriate and justifiable cancellation charge.

Because every package may contain different flights, hotels and other services, the amount payable on cancellation can vary from one booking to another.

How Are Cancellation Charges Calculated?

Cancellation charges are not intended to operate as an arbitrary penalty.

Where applicable, the amount may take into account:

amounts committed to airlines, hotels or other travel suppliers;

whether those amounts can be recovered following cancellation;

the time remaining before departure;

costs saved as a result of the cancellation; and

whether any of the cancelled travel services can reasonably be used or sold again.

Some supplier arrangements, particularly certain flight fares or promotional accommodation rates, may result in a substantial cancellation cost.

Any such condition that applies to your chosen holiday will be identified before you book.

Where required by applicable package travel law, the organiser can provide an explanation of how the applicable cancellation charge has been determined.

Non-Refundable or Restricted Travel Services

Some flights, hotel rates or other travel services may carry restrictive cancellation conditions from the time the booking is confirmed.

Where this applies, the relevant condition will be shown before payment.

A supplier describing a service as non-refundable does not remove any statutory rights you may have under UK package travel law.

Your final cancellation entitlement will always be determined by the conditions applying to your booking together with your applicable legal rights.

How Do I Find Out What I Would Receive Back?

Before cancelling, contact Tiger Holidays and we will review the conditions applying to your booking.

Where appropriate, we will provide a cancellation breakdown showing:

Total booking value

Amount already paid

Applicable cancellation costs

Amount refundable to you

You can then decide whether you wish to proceed with the cancellation.

Please include your booking reference and lead traveller name.

No General 14-Day Cooling-Off Period

Package holidays and travel services supplied for specific dates do not benefit from the general 14-day cooling-off right that applies to many other online purchases.

This means that cancellation conditions may apply as soon as your booking has been confirmed.

Please therefore check the cancellation conditions carefully before making payment.

What Happens to My Deposit?

Paying a deposit does not necessarily mean that your cancellation liability is limited to the amount of the deposit.

If you cancel, the amount payable will depend on the cancellation conditions applying to the complete booking.

Where a deposit or any other amount is subject to a particular cancellation condition, this will be shown before you complete your booking.

Refunds Following a Customer Cancellation

If you cancel your holiday and a refund remains due after applying the cancellation conditions applicable to your booking, the refundable balance will be returned in accordance with applicable law.

Refunds will normally be made in pounds sterling (GBP) to the original payment method unless another method is required by law or the payment provider.

Bank processing times may apply after a refund has been issued.

If We or the Organiser Cancel Your Package

Different rights apply where your package is cancelled by the organiser rather than by you.

Where the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018 require a refund following termination of your package, the applicable refund will be provided without undue delay and within the statutory period.

You may also be offered an alternative package where appropriate.

Your rights will depend on the circumstances of the cancellation.

Significant Changes Before Departure

If a significant change is made to an important part of your package before departure, you may have the right to:

accept the proposed change;

accept an alternative package where one is offered; or

terminate the package without paying a cancellation charge and receive the refund required by law.

We will explain the available options if your booking is affected.

Unavoidable and Extraordinary Circumstances

You may have the right to cancel your package without paying a cancellation charge where unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances occur at or near your destination and significantly affect:

the performance of your package; or

the carriage of passengers to the destination.

Whether this right applies depends on the circumstances affecting your particular holiday.

A personal change of plans, concern about travelling or another individual circumstance does not automatically create a right to cancel without charge.

Travel insurance may provide protection for some circumstances that are not covered by your statutory cancellation rights.

Flight Cancellations and Schedule Changes

If a flight included within your package is cancelled or significantly changed, please contact Tiger Holidays before accepting alternative arrangements directly with the airline.

Your rights under your package holiday contract are separate from any rights you may have against the operating airline.

We will review how the flight change affects the package as a whole.

Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend arranging suitable travel insurance as soon as you book your holiday.

Travel insurance may provide cover where you need to cancel because of circumstances such as illness, injury or other insured events.

Whether a claim is covered is determined by your insurer and the terms of your policy.

Please see our Travel Insurance page for further information.
